Social Security in Switzerland
Overview
Social insurance in Switzerland is a well-organised and carefully designed system in itself, regarding the welfare of its citizens. This course aims to guide you through this unique system with a balance of theory and practice, as well as a plethora of other resources in order to place the topic of social insurance in the Swiss context.
You will start with an introduction to what social insurance is and its various facets, and then learn how to distinguish them and payment modes for each one. In some topic blocks you will find assignments to link what you have learned to your everyday work.
This course will take approx. 24 hours (20 hours of learning, 4 hours of repetition).

Learning Aims
Understanding the nature, organisation and basic concepts of accounting in Switzerland.
Learning about the principles of proper bookkeeping and accounting.
Explaining the standards and the SME chart of accounts.
Central to the acquisition of knowledge are the various exercises to help you practise the various terms.
Developing an appreciation for the accounting system of Switzerland.
Evaluation
In order to receive credit for this course, students must participate in the online activities and successfully complete the assignments included.
At the end of the course, the students receive a statement that they have fulfilled all the requirements on the course and have knowledge of all the material included.

Quizzes and tests with the answers given at the end; plus the possibility of repeating the tests if the students wish to.
Learning cards in electronic form with several versions in the order of the cards that the students can use.
